Therapeutic Services

Red Door Therapeutic Services offers a variety of educational and therapeutic services in our centers throughout Long Island. We can also provide these services at your home, day care, school, and via virtual therapy. Parents are responsible for arranging and playing the costs of any child care or community-based setting in which the child may be enrolled.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy practitioners help people adapt to a variety of challenges: developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, job-related injuries, neurological problems, orthopedic injuries, birth defects, stroke, psychosocial disorders, chemical dependency, age-related disorders

They help with impaired physical functioning which hampers the ability to perform daily life tasks, psychosocial problems which hamper the ability to function in daily life, special needs which require modification of the physical environment and/or use of specialized equipment and technologies (e.g., changes in the home or job site for a person in a wheelchair)

Speech Language Pathology

A speech-language pathologist is a licensed health care professional who diagnoses, evaluates, and treats disorders of speech, voice, swallowing, and/or language. Speech-language pathologists treat communication problems in infants, children, adolescents and adults. You might consult a speech-language pathologist to help someone with a speech impairment, such as stuttering, slurred speech, or voice problems; someone whose speech or language has been affected by a stroke or head injury; someone whose speech has been affected by surgery; someone with a swallowing disorder.

You might use the services of a speech-language pathologist for a child if you have difficulty understanding what the child is trying to say; you think the child is speaking differently from children of the same age; the child has difficulty telling you what he or she wants; or the child has difficulty understanding what people are saying.

Physical Therapy

A physical therapist is a licensed health care professional who examines and evaluates a patient’s condition and then plans and administers treatments to promote optimal health. Physical therapists seek to relieve pain, improve the body’s movement and function, maintain cardiopulmonary function, restore, maintain and promote optimal physical function; and limit disabilities resulting from injury or disease.

Physical therapists take your health history, observe your posture and movement, evaluate your injury, and develop a plan of care. Treatment may include, but is not limited to, the following: patient/client education in health, wellness, and safety; manual therapy, such as massage and mobilization and manipulation; therapeutic exercise; management of pain; application of therapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation; training in daily living activities

Behavior Intervention Services

Behavior Intervention Services are available to address a wide range of behaviors, from simple to complex, for individuals with various disabilities, including Autism. Red Door a has range of available Behavior Intervention Service providers, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (“BCBAs”), Parent Trainers & Counselors, Direct Behavior Intervention Service Providers, BIS Services, ABA Paraprofessionals & Classroom Aides.
